A run is a scenario against its baseline. At 200 replications that is 400 simulations and takes about a tenth of a second for a twelve month horizon with around forty agents, measured on the machine this was built on. A sweep is one lever across a range, so a 25 step sweep at 80 replications is 2,000 simulations and counts as one sweep.

The three limits that actually decide your plan
Why there is a free tier now
An earlier version of this page argued at some length that there should not be one. The argument was that a free tier accepting real financial statements means running storage and support for people who have not decided whether they want the product.
That argument was wrong in one specific way, and it is worth saying how rather than quietly changing the page. A twin is only interesting once real files are in it. So a demonstration on invented numbers, which is what the old page offered instead, could never answer the only question that matters: does this say anything useful about my company. Refusing to let people find that out without paying was not principled, it was just a worse product.
So the free tier takes real files and gives real answers, with narrower limits. One twin, three files, ten runs a month, twelve month horizon, sixty replications. Everything that makes the output honest is in it: the full ledger, every origin chip, every band, every Why chain. What is missing is scale and the network, both of which are the parts that genuinely cost money to run.
It is not time limited and it does not nag. If ten runs a month is enough for your company, stay on it. The build status page still lists what is not finished, and the refund promise below still applies to the paid tiers.
Pricing is not settled. These numbers are a first attempt by a small team with few customers, and they may move before general release. If they move for an existing subscriber, notice comes by email before the next renewal and cancelling is one click. Anybody who subscribes while this note is on the page will be told directly rather than finding out from an invoice.
Billing, cancelling, and what happens to your twins
Does the free tier need a card?
No. No card, no trial clock, no expiry date, and no email sequence trying to move you off it. You sign in, you build a twin, and the limits are the limits.
How is payment taken on the paid tiers?
Through Paid Memberships Pro with Stripe as the gateway. Card details go to Stripe and are never held by this software. Monthly or yearly, in advance, and the amount shown excludes any tax that applies where you are. If you are self hosting, the whole setup is documented.
What does yearly actually save?
Two months. Explore is 1,490 rather than 1,788. Operator is 3,900 rather than 4,680. Boardroom is 8,900 rather than 10,680. Given that pricing may still change, yearly also fixes your price for the year you have paid for.
Can I change plan in the middle of a period?
Yes. Moving up takes effect immediately and is prorated. Moving down takes effect at the next renewal, so you keep what you paid for. If a downgrade would put you over a limit, for example three twins on a plan that allows one, you are asked which to keep rather than having one chosen for you. Nothing is deleted for being over a limit.
How do I cancel?
One click in your account. No notice period, no cancellation fee, no email you have to send to somebody who will try to talk you out of it. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then you drop to the free tier rather than to nothing.
What happens to my twins if I stop paying?
You fall back to the free tier, so one twin stays open and readable. Everything above that limit is kept for thirty days from the end of the paid period, so a cancellation you regret or a card that failed while you were away does not destroy your work. Resubscribe inside that window and everything is exactly where it was.
After thirty days the excess is deleted. Not archived, not held in cold storage, deleted, which is the same commitment the privacy policy makes. Export before you go: facts, assumptions, graph nodes, run results and briefs all read back through the API on the plans that include it, and briefs export as a document from Explore upwards.
What if a payment fails?
The gateway retries for a short period and you are emailed. Access continues during the retries, then drops to free. The thirty day retention window starts from that drop, not from the first failed charge.
Is there a refund if it is not useful?
If the product does not do what this website says it does, say so within thirty days of paying and you will be refunded. That is deliberately tied to the claims on the site, which is why there is a build status page listing what is not built. Outside that window a part used period is not refunded. The free tier means you can check most of this before paying at all.
Is there a discount for non profits, education or very small companies?
Ask. There is no published programme, because publishing one before anybody has asked is a way of pretending to have customers, but a reasonable request from a small organisation doing serious work will get a reasonable answer.
Can I pay by invoice rather than card?
On Enterprise, yes. On the listed paid plans, card only for now, because handling invoices properly takes time that is currently going into the product.
